Visual Studies Consortium
The UA Visual Studies Consortium is an informal, cross-disciplinary group of scholars, educators, and students interested in discussing and promoting the study of visual culture, visual communication, and visual processes. We seek to form a dialogue with others who integrate visual studies into the university's curriculum, in visual arts, art history, communication, rhetoric, journalism, book arts, landscape studies, American studies, film studies, and other avenues of inquiry into visual/pictorial/material culture.
We invite you to join the conversation, and hope you will encourage interested students to attend our events.
If you work with the visual in some way and would like to present your work at a university colloquium in the next academic year, or you have other ideas for consortium activities, we would like to hear from you! We are also interested in inventorying classes in the UA system that engage with the visual in some way; your suggestions and comments are welcome.
