Visual Studies
From Screenpedia
Visual studies, broadly speaking, includes any discipline devoted to the analysis of images — whether still or moving; accompanied by sound or silent; printed, projected or appearing on an electronic screen. Thus, film/TV studies, art history, and communication studies, among others, are all visual studies disciplines.
At the University of Alabama the Visual Studies Consortium is a loosely knit group of faculty members and students who study and teach visual media.
